Description:
Hello!
I'm listing this because I have had thoughts about getting rid of it and time is limited for me to do something before I can't for awhile. Way back when I bought it I planned to make this my woods truck...but my thoughts changed, and I realize now this truck is too clean and straightto beat it up offroad. It would be far better as an example of what these were like when they drove off the assembly line. I don't know if it's 72K miles or 172K, or 272K. I would highly doubt its 272K, but it looks to me like at least one of the odometer numbers doesn't line up, so 172K is probably most accurate.
I'm calling this a survivor. I'm extremely picky about what is "good", and I bought this one around 2010 thinking it was excellent. Rust free truck, purchased from someone that daily drove it highway. As I recall from my conversation with the previous owner (cannot recall if he was the original owner) all work under his ownership had been done by GM dealers. I purchased it, drove it to my old house, then new house and into the garage in 2011. Been there since. As far as I know this thing lived on the west coast its entire life and has never been exposed to salt. I don't think there are any modifications to the truck (unsure if running boards were dealer-installed) except the window vent things.
Bodywork necessary that I recall would be to fill in one or two dents in the drivers door from what appear to have been BB's. Typical GM paint of that era so it would need repainted to look great.
Will need a fair bit of reassembly but not much of that is body specific. Mainly just putting stuff back together in the engine bay. Engine nor trans has been removed. Also missing a few parts: bumpers, muffler-back, and perhaps power steering pump and brake booster/master, can't recall which of those I took off, or all of them. AC system will need re-done, I disconnected the compressor. Will need wheels/tires as the ralleys didn't come with it and I need the spare wheels. The headliner has separated as the pics show.
It was parked running and driving, the only issue was an EGR code at that time, which didn't affect how it ran. I wouldn't be surprised if the valve seals leaked some oil but I honestly can't remember if it smoked on startup when I bought it. EGR code probably means the passages are plugged, which is carbon, which means it's probably a high mileage engine. These weren't powerhouses factory, but it ran good when I did drive it. Obviously the engine and trans had a lot of years on them before I bought it, and the truck has sat for this long, so I can't guarantee you reassemble it and it will work fine, but it did when parked.
Asking $10000. If I had the time and motivation to do the work to get it back up and running I believe a fair bit more would be reasonable. If I'm off base then I'm willing to consider offers, but I doubt there are many of these trucks left that started out in the condition this one did and have been garaged for the past ~13 years.
I probably should take some underhood pics, but as you can see in the back of the truck the fan shroud is there, as I removed the radiator, trans cooler, etc. I can get pics underhood if needed.
There are some other parts pictured that do not go with it. I will include all parts I have that I took off. I do not have the ability to move this thing myself. So trailering would be up to the buyer. Title in hand.
